The Company               

Russell Biotech Inc. is engaged in the development and commercialization of a unique (patent pending) magnetic cell selection technology licensed by Russell Biotech for non-commercial, life sciences research use only, from Immunicon Corporation, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Commercial applications may be available from Immunicon if research efforts lead to new diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

Russell Biotech’s initial product is the Quick-Sep Cell Selection system. It is intended for life sciences researchers in Universities and other research in a non-commercial clinical or laboratory environment. Russell Biotech will initially offer particles for purging unwanted cell populations. There are two key properties of Russsell Biotech’s particles that result in superior purging over that seen with current technologies based on superparamagnetism and gravity settling. First, they are ferromagnetic which leads to very rapid magnetic collection. Second, they are metallic. Metallic particles do not bind nor trap non-targeted cells.

The company was incorporated in early 2003 and is located in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Product will be sold directly by the company’s sales force and through distributors.
